Another conversion project has been announced which will see graphic paper capacities being replaced by containerboard capacities – this time in Mexico.
Mexican paper and packaging manufacturer Copamex, Monterrey, will switch production at the Anáhuac mill from graphic paper to recycled containerboard. To this end, the company has ordered a modern stock preparation system from Voith, which can use a variety of raw materials including OCC and mixed paper.
The machine will have a nominal capacity of 260,000 t of testliner and fluting and is scheduled to start operation in early 2019.
Copamex is a major Mexican supplier of writing and printing papers, packaging and specialty papers as well as finished packaging. The company is also active in the recycling sector. It operates 7 plants in Mexico.
