Sales of Germany’s corrugated board industry continued to grow in the third quarter of the year. However, rising costs continue to weigh on the sector’s results.
According to the industry association Verband der Wellpappenindustrie (VDW), its members sold around 6 billion m² of corrugated board in the period from January to September, around 2.9% more than in the first nine months of 2017. Sales in the third quarter reportedly amounted to 1.995 billion m², some 20 million m² more than in Q2. However, third quarter sales were 0.9% lower than in Q3 2017.
